This research aims to examine former astronauts’ diverse language learning histories and how this might potentially relate to their cognitive performance, building on growing evidence that linguistic experience influences key aspects of executive function. In the context of spaceflight, these insights may help support effective crew interactions, and enhance overall mission safety in the demanding environment of space. Insights into language processing and neural adaptation in space could help inform post-flight strategies that support faster recovery.
